“I couldn’t look my 11 year old daughter in the eye. “We would have never guessed we would be in this position…you talked me off the ledge several times and that alone is worth more than I can say. You knew my mental and emotional state was fragile, so you talked sports with me to help me get through one particular day. This has been the most difficult thing I have ever faced, Shelley, and if not for you, I don’t know what would have happened.”

Client C., October 2019

When a family is faced with the very real possibility of losing their home, feelings of guilt and anxiety can become overwhelming. No matter what the hardship that caused the mortgage default, Parkview’s HUD Housing Counselors are there to guide clients through the tricky and often lengthy process of reaching a positive outcome and preventing homelessness. As you can see in the quote above, defaulting on one’s mortgage is much more than a financial matter, and emotions run high. Counselors like Shelley Doran provide stability for homeowners on shaky ground.
